Semarang - Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (FH UNISSULA) continues to strengthen its commitment to the internationalization of higher education by organizing a Student Mobility program to two leading universities in Malaysia, namely Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). This program is part of FH UNISSULA’s strategy to improve academic quality, broaden students’ global perspectives, and strengthen international cooperation networks in education, research, and the development of legal studies. The presence of students and delegates from the UNISSULA Undergraduate Program in Law at both universities is a tangible implementation of international academic cooperation oriented toward improving the quality of human resources and the global competitiveness of graduates.

Under this program, FH UNISSULA previously sent three students to Multimedia University (MMU) Melaka to take part in a one-semester academic mobility program, running from 29 October 2026 to 28 March 2027. Through this program, students are expected to gain international learning experience, become familiar with Malaysia’s higher education system, strengthen their academic competence, and develop cross-cultural communication and interaction skills. In addition, FH UNISSULA has dispatched 12 students to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for a one-month Student Mobility program, from 1 to 29 November 2026. The UKM delegation is also accompanied by four lecturers and two administrative staff members to support the smooth running of academic activities, institutional coordination, and student guidance throughout the program.

The arrival of the FH UNISSULA delegation at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) was warmly welcomed by the leadership of each university, including the Dean and Vice Deans. This welcome reflects a positive partnership and a shared commitment to developing higher education collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia. The meetings with faculty leadership at both universities also served as an important opportunity to strengthen institutional communication, discuss prospects for developing academic cooperation, and open broader avenues for collaboration, particularly in student and lecturer exchanges, joint research, and the development of internationally standardized curricula.

The accompanying FH UNISSULA delegation consists of Dr. Ida Musofiana, S.H., M.H., Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Argo Victoria, International Ambassador of FH UNISSULA; Dr. M. Rizal Bagaskoro, S.H., M.H., Head of the Undergraduate Program in Law; and Aditya Noviansyah, S.H., M.H., Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Law. The Dean of FH UNISSULA, Prof. Dr. H. Jawade Hafidz, S.H., M.H., fully supports the implementation of the Student Mobility program as part of the faculty’s strategic agenda for internationalization. In line with the faculty’s policy direction, this program is aimed not only at short-term student exchange but also at laying the foundation for more integrated academic cooperation. One of the strategic targets is to launch a Double Degree program next year, so that students have the opportunity to gain educational experience at two universities and earn academic qualifications in accordance with the provisions and cooperation agreements of both institutions.

Through this UKM Student Mobility program, FH UNISSULA hopes to further expand the implementation of international cooperation while improving the quality and global competitiveness of its graduates. The program is also a concrete step toward creating an internationally oriented academic environment, in line with UNISSULA’s vision of becoming a leading Islamic university in nurturing the Khaira Ummah generation. With the support of faculty leadership and partner universities in Malaysia, FH UNISSULA is optimistic that the collaboration already established can continue to grow into strategic programs, particularly the Double Degree, lecturer exchange, international research collaboration, and legal education that is increasingly competitive at both the regional and global levels.
