PROFILE

The S1 Ilmu Hukum Study Programme at UNISSULA's Faculty of Law is committed to becoming an excellent, modern centre of legal education grounded in Islamic values.

History

The Undergraduate Programme in Legal Studies traces its origin to the Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Sultan Agung, founded in 1963 — one year after the university itself was established by the Sultan Agung Waqf Foundation (YBWSA) on 20 May 1962. It opened under the name Fakultas Hukum dan Pengetahuan Masyarakat (FHPM) and has since grown into a study programme accredited at the highest national grade and recognised internationally.

    1962

    UNISSULA is founded

    The Sultan Agung Waqf Foundation (YBWSA) establishes Universitas Islam Sultan Agung in Semarang on 20 May 1962, corresponding to 16 Dzulhijjah 1381 H.

    1963

    The Faculty of Law opens as FHPM

    One year after the university itself, the faculty opens under the name Fakultas Hukum dan Pengetahuan Masyarakat (FHPM) — the Faculty of Law and Social Knowledge — which later became the Faculty of Law.

    1964

    Registered status

    The faculty is granted registered status under Decree No. 74/B/SWT/P/1964 of the Department of Higher Education and Science (PTIP).

    1967

    Status raised to recognised

    Decree No. 28 of 1967 of the Directorate General of Higher Education raises the faculty's institutional status.

    2024

    UNGGUL accreditation from BAN-PT

    The Undergraduate Programme in Legal Studies is accredited UNGGUL — the highest national grade — by decree 6385/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.Ppj/S/X/2024, valid until 31 October 2029.

    International recognition

    UNISSULA holds international certification from the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC), based in the United Kingdom, with Premier status.
